Compounded Institutionalized Racism in the United States. What can you do?

Grounds For Clarity, LLC understands that inequity exists on our soil. United States soil.

When others hurt, we hurt. When we see hurt we do not just stand by.

We all have reasoning for behind why we are responding the way we are: looking the other way, plugging our ears, covering our eyes, devastated, or even oblivious to what is going on: compounded institutionalized racism towards those with dark skin. I am speaking specifically about the compounded institutionalized racism toward African Americans.

Education is the key to empowering us all toward unity. Here is a message from someone that harnesses the unified heaviness we all feel, regardless of our skin color:

“Good Morning Change Makers, ( This is Sandy Holman, Director of The Culture C.O-.O.P, http://www.cultureco-op.com)

Please join us virtually, this Saturday, May 30th, from 2-4 to preview our Cost Of Darkness Documentary done in collaboration with UC Davis Students, nationally and internationally renown experts, courageous community activists, families, and communities nefariously impacted by entrenched, “dark skin,” racism, supremacy ideology, systemic oppression, injustice and insidious inequity, and all through a young adult lens. It is powerful what they have done, in collaboration with the Culture C.O-.O.P, equity partners and my over 35 years of experience doing this critical work. It is also foundational for creating a mindshare for real systemic change and strategic interventions which are more informed and impactful.

Below, are two simple reflections I wrote for people recently and consistently over times, who are troubled and horrified over the continued killings of black and brown people throughout our history. I have spent my life , in all forms, with all age groups, and with a variety of organizations/ institutions, nationally and globally as a proponet of equity, systemic and proactive approaches for transformative change, and encouraging people to have a historic understanding and timeline of supremacy ideology, injustice, inequity and structuralized systems

The festering wounds of cross generational killings and Murders of black and brown people, and especially black men, is something that takes time off your life. Yet another man, subdued by an officer’s knee on his neck using excessive force as he pleaded that he could not breath, has died. The festering wound for black People, and anyone who cares. is reopened each time this happens, and is pulverizing to the spirit and decimating to the soul. Having these heinous acts on video usually means nothing too, since the message from the top is clear, “ Dark” skinned folks lives do not matter. They matter to me… all .people do. Hence, I will stay the course and share some of the pain with you all. Black folks should not have to carry the weight of what is a national and historic sin alone any more . I will continue to bubble wrap myself in love, systemic approaches and action, equity work, and whatever it takes to stay the course. Another soul is screaming and we hear you call out for justice on the backs of all who died before you💜🌺🙏🏿

Rest In Peace but know we heard your soul screaming 🌺 these are real people who have families, friends and even strangers who care about them . They , and the multitudes who have been murdered and killed throughout history deserve your attention and action. White Supremacy and the legacy of it, and its proclivity to ensure people are afraid of and mortally over reactive to, those with darker skin has infiltrated every American Institution , community, individual and even people of color in how they see and Value themselves. It is like a huge oversized boil with the foulest stench and is spreading its infection throughout our bodies. We are about 400 years late , but it’s time to lance the boil , clean it and let the poison drain out of it. This is how we begin to heal💜 This is how we lay ground for change. I hope you do your part 🌺”

I want this to be a safe space to share my goings-on while I dig deep into my journey of self-discovery. What brings me to my desire to share my journey? I wish to provide life-coaching services to others. I coach to help others uncover what it is that is holding them back from accomplishing what is dearest in their hearts, spirit and minds. I am currently a student at iPEC, Institute of Professional Excellence in coaching. I am determined to disseminate my coaching services to all those interested. While I coach, I also would like to share bits and pieces of what it is that I do as a life coach-to-be and inversely, what I do not do. I am an imagineer, at your service. That is the best way I can describe a life coach to you. As a life coach-to-be, I can teach you how to think outside the box, consider alternative perspectives and reflect on what influences your thoughts. If any of this sounds like something you are experiencing, what is stopping you from moving forward? A space to message me may be found on the middle menu option on my home page. I acknowledge, appreciate and embody gratitude for each and every one of you and the struggles which you endeavour each and every moment. No one is a stranger to adversity. We can all overcome adversity because of our combined diversity. Thank you for contributing your time into our growing and collective, worldly diversity. Endearingly yours, Kim
